takano miyo’s shirt! (and another piece for nita)
I made the shirt for nita’s takano costume!ta da~
both rika and miyo wear collared shirts in their default outfits, so the plan here was just to make the same pattern I did for rika’s shirt but scale it up to be bigger and for my doll amanita’s measurements.
i talked in my previous post about making personalized “block” patterns for my dolls. these are what those patterns look like ^
I tried to be a bit more meticulous when making my pattern this time, and I made each piece of the pattern symmetrical (despite my block patterns themselves not being perfectly symmetrical).
i scaled the collar incorrectly initially… but/and i also forgot it was supposed to be white, not pink. so that was two strikes, two good reasons to redo it. i had already glued and sewed it on and it mostly came back up fine, and then i reformed the neckline with the new one. it’s kinda messy in the back and on the wrong side, but it turned out fine. i kinda wish I’d gone a little shorter still, but ah well. didn’t wanna redo it a third time
sleeves were also a challenge. i didn’t get them perfectly right on bnuy’s rika shirt either, but I think they were a bit less twisted up.
I think my problem here was maybe that I had the sleeves dipping down too far/deep down the bodice but I’d rather overestimate there than underestimate… I also think I could have gathered the sleeves at the top a little more. I wasn’t very careful with attaching one of them, I only used a guide/basting thread for one of them. Idk. Just pondering.
